How I Got My Content Featured At E3 For 100K+ Live Viewers

If doors keep closing on you, create your own door.

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity of interviewing Neil Jones, Creator of "Aerial_Knight's Never Yield", for my YouTube Series “The Games That Make Us”. We discussed retro games, rejection from game studios, and the lack of diversity within the gaming industry.

I appreciate his honesty and how he used those rejections as motivation. Not only did Neil create his own video game, available now across all platforms, but he partnered with Media Indie Exchange to put more spotlight on other black game developers under “Black Voices In Gaming Freshmen Class 2021-22”.

After the interview, I did some research on the Freshmen Class” and realized there wasn’t a trailer to fully showcase all 15+ games from these developers. I decided to create a trailer, add it to the interview video, and forward it over to Neil so their team can use it for themselves. I didn’t expect this to happen next!

Many people were interested in learning more about the Freshmen Class and shared the trailer across different platforms! Also, Neil introduced me to the founder of the MIX and he loved the trailer as well! Next thing I know, my trailer was featured in their E3 campaign for Guerrilla Collective!

My ultimate goal is to be a problem solver and maximize brands’ potential to reach bigger audiences. I didn’t know my trailer would be featured live for over 100K+ people to see, but the opportunity to help others grow makes it that much sweeter.

Moral of the story: Don’t wait until an opportunity comes knocking, create your own opportunities. Take initiative and be the solution.

Here’s the trailer I made for MIX’s “Black Voice In Gaming Freshmen Class” for the Guerrilla Collective E3 Livestream. (Featured on IGN, GameSpot, and Guerrilla Collective channels.)
